I cured my speedometer rattle on the cheap with junk I had at the house. Squirt some silicon on the tank bottom where the cable rubs, you'll see it easily, there will be NO paint. Affix a pieces of leather, heavy cloth or related in the silicon. Reinstall the tank, end of rattle.
If it's something else, tell us what it is, I used to ride HD big twins and can cure a lot of "bike shaking itself apart" type problems.
